In this book key elements of the history of the ancient runes and bindrunes are covered. The runic alphabet is illustrated along with examples on how bindrunes can be constructed in a simple way. The shapes that make up the runes are separated and viewed to better understand the alphabet in hopes of making practical use of the runes easier.
Many of Iceland´s historic names and places are shown in runic letters in the book and there is also a chapter on nordic theology where we look at the link between Odin and the runes.
The book is an attempt to increase access to knowledge on this subject and it is a contribution towards preserving a vital part of Iceland´s cultural heritage. The book highlights the importance of passing knowledge on, from one generation to another.
